history of covid19

COVID-19, which is threatening people across the globe was found initially in

Wuhan, a commercial capital in China. The Corona disease is caused by severe

acute respiratory syndrome corona virus (SARS- CoV-2) which is a contagious virus.

It is said that the virus originated from bats in Wuhan wet markets, where customers

buy fresh meat.

The first case of COVID19 in humans was found in early December 2019. China

declared the spread of new virus (COVID-19) on January 12 2020. The first case of

Corona outside China was identified in Thailand on 13 January 2020. From then,

there was no stopping for the deadly virus as it started its outbreak across the world

much sooner than people would have expected.

WHO declared COVID-19 as a pandemic across the world on 11 March 2020

considering the intensity of Covid-19. The first case of COVID19 in India was

reported officially on January 30, 2020. Indian Prime minister Narendra Modi

announced a nationwide lockdown on March 24, which was then followed by various

relaxations to a new normal which was essential for the development of the country

after the lockdown.

Now, amidst COVID19, people started retrieving their normal life with utmost safety

precautions. As we keep moving forward despite Corona, we hope a near future
